Parents are able to claim up to 30 hours a week funding for their 3 and 4 year olds, split between nursery schools and private day nurseries.

In term time, children can usually look to receive 12.5 hours in a nursery school setting and up to 17.5 hours in a private day nursery setting per week.

When schools close for holidays, the full 30 hours can be claimed in a private nursery setting.

Funding is available for 48 weeks out of the 52 weeks in a year. This means that 4 weeks are unfunded and fees must be paid in full by the parents.
